2011 Minnesota Carv-Fest

August 11, 12 & 13, 2011

Carv-Fest 2011 features an outstanding lineup of instructors and events for all skill levels of woodcarvers. Our 20 instructors include: Harley Refsal (figures), Marv Kaisersatt (caricatures), Floyd Rhadigan (caricatures), Steve Brown (caricatures), Ev Ellenwood (beginning/eyes/sharpening), Chris Howard (realistic), Leah Goddard (animals), Joe Dillett (drawing/clay), Tony Erickson (bark house lamp), Dennis Schuster (bark houses), Mary Weinheimer (whittling), Jack Miller (shorebirds), Bob Lawrence (bison/native American), Marty Dolphens (figures/santa/bark), Gen Jansen (oak leaf faces/bark/Alice Spadgenski (relief), Loren Woodard (relief/facial features/spirits), Dick Zawacki (loon), Russ Scott (santas), Tami Oachs (clay) & Nicole Volk (print blocks).

Special events include a Wednesday evening pre-fest presentation by featured carver and author Harley Refsal (Scandinavian Style Woodcarving) and a special display of all the carvings from his new book due out in May of 2011. Other events include a trader's blanket, carving contest, free beginner mini-sessions, music jam and an auction of donated carvings and merchandise with a percentage of proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society ... highlighted by a rare Marv Kaisersatt original! Carv-fest features 1-day classes on a variety of subjects for all skill levels. The 3-day festival allows carvers to take multiple classes from multiple instructors at a great price ... all in one place.

On-site camping is available and there will be plenty of vendors selling products including: Carving Magazine, Stubai Tools, The Woodcraft Shop (Big Dog), John Krantz Wood Sales, John Dunkle Knives and others.
