The second annual Suwanee River Woodcarvers Roundup in Florida will be held Wednesday March 29 through Sunday, April 2, 2006. This is an unstructured, no pressure, carefree carving event with very few guidelines. No matter what your age, if you already carve, would like to improve your skills, or would like to learn how, come for a few quiet days of wood carvers getting together to have a great time cutting up!!!
Carving classes Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The only instructional cost would be for materials needed and a $5.00 registration fee.
This Roundup will be held at the Manatee Springs State Park, 11650 N.W. 115th St., Chiefland, FL 32626. To Make reservation for camping/RVs at the park call Reserve America at 1-800-326-3521 or go online at www.floridastateparks.org. Basic campsite fee with hookups $16.

The Roundup is a very friendly un-structured carving
event for everyone. No matterwhat your age if you already carve,
would like to improve on your skills, or would like to learn how,
come join us for a great time cutting up!! No need to be here
for all four days, you are welcome to join us at any time during
the Roundup. Many come a few days ahead just for extra fun and
fellowship. Over 50 workshops are on a first come basis. You can
join many of them any time of the day. This is your opportunity
to try different types of carving before purchasing the tools
you need.
Learn how to create wooden marionette from design to final product with Miroslav Trejtnar and Zdar Sorm , leading Czech puppet artists and experienced teachers based in Prague, the Czech Republic.

Students will carve two 30" marionettes; one hung on strings,
the other hung on a wire using the traditional Czech method
