Seeing A Jewel Hang In Ghastly Nights

By Steff Rocknak

Steff Rocknak wrote the following about Jewel:

Date of Completion: June 2004

Wood: New York State Hard Maple (Curly)

Carving Difficulty: Very difficult; this piece of maple was stubborn and unpredictable. But the wild grain made it worth the fight.

Size: Somewhat larger than life (18 x 20 x 14)

Comments: As is the case with most of my recent work, I decided on the title only after I was finished; my motivation shifted sometime after the midway point in this piece. This title is inspired by Shakespeare's Sonnet 27.
