Metro Carvers Show 2008

This year's show was fantastic !!! Day by day operations went as smoothly as can be , manpower was excellent , carvings unbelievable and everyone walked around with a smile. How the heck we did this I'm not sure but Bill and Barb Wolfe and Mike LePage as chairpersons deserve the credit along with all their committee chairs. So many people helped it would take another article in itself just to thank them all.

Best of Show and the People's Choice award went to Edgar Potestades . Edgar treated us with another of his great reliefs for Best of Show and another outstanding relief for the People's Choice. Edgar keeps climbing the competition ladder and increasing his national recognition !!

John Karalunas was awarded 2nd Best of Show and used his sense of humor and showed us another definition of a western Super Bowl !! John always is in the running for a top award at our show !!

Denise Mooney won 3rd Best of Show with her "bird" influence that dazzled the judges. Denise is a repeat winner who always has quality entries.

Paul Blanchard, long time member was the feature carver and had a large assortment of carvings for all to see. Paul is one of the top club goodwill ambassadors so it was great to see him recognized.

I had a lot of fun with the blanket swap again. We had a good turn out and a good time.  This year sure was the year of fun for old and young alike.
