Welcome to Issue 1 of Year 13 of Woodcarver Online Magazine.

Hello carving friends -

Wheee! That is all I can say about this issue of WOM. I always look forward to the International Woodcarving Congress issue with anticipation - and some amount of dread. Anticipation because of the wonderful carvings and always excellent photography by Marc Featherly - but dread because I know preparing the photos, processing the list of winners and building the web pages will take countless hours. The winner pages in particular take a lot of work, but I wouldn't have it otherwise - the art and photography deserve a carefully constructed presentation.

In addition to Marc Featherly's photos of the winning carvings, this issue features a selection of his casual photos of Congress week. In addition, "Ol' Don" and Sandie Burgdorf were kind enough to send a nice collection of casual images from the exhibit hall and seminar floor. All told, (counting thumbnails) there are over 730 images in the several Congress articles. Enjoy!
