Keith Clements recently
anounced the formation of a new Fishcarving List.
Keith helped out as the group moderator for a year or so on the
old Fishcarver group. After that list was shut down. he received
a lot of requests for a new group from members of the former
group. At one time the old Fishcaver list had over 200 members.

Southtowns Woodcarvers of Hamburg, NY will be hosting the
8th Annual CCA Carvealong East at the Erie County Fairgrounds.
Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced carvers from the east coast
will gather to get instruction from 3 CCA (Caricature Carvers
of America) members.
Each carver will be carving one day with each of the instructors. In 2003 the instructors will be:
Each will be teaching a different piece, so
each carver will be going home with 3 carvings by the end
of the weekend. You may have to do a little finish work, but the
main parts will be done. The gathering will be restricted to 36
carvers for 3 twelve carver classes. You get to meet new carvers
and gain new friends. The cost will be $192 total, which will
include membership in Southtowns, and lunches during the weekend,
plus instruction. Vendors will be available with all your woodcarving
needs.
This is always a special time and 39 caricature carvers in one building always seems to bring out the laughter and fun. We hope you can make it.
Reservations will be on first come first serve
with a $50 deposit. If interested, contact Ken Kohl at 716-937-3228

No matter what your age, if you already carve, would like to improve on your skills or would like to learn how, come for a few quite days of wood carvers getting together to have a great time cutting up!! You are welcome to join us at anytime during the Roundup.
Sharing ideas and techniques is the main focus of the Roundup with teaching and instruction totally volunteer. Instruction will be FREE, but there may be a cost for materials.
