Our friend Marnie Whillock, editor of Carving Magazine, recently had successful surgery for breast cancer, but has a long course of treatment ahead of her. Unfortunately, Marnie has no insurance to cover her medical expense, so carvers all over North Americal have joined forces to support one of our own. In addition to the CCA project you can read about in this issue, there will be auctions of donated carvings at the Whillock Woodcarving Festival on August 21 and 22 in Faribault, MN, and at the International Carver's Conference, September 10-12 in Kitchener, OT, CA.
