Changes Are Coming to Woodcarver Online Magazine

Friends in Carving -

A while ago I posted a teaser message in the Woodcarver List Facebook group about changes coming to the Carvers’ Companion and Woodcarver Online Magazine (W.O.M.)   Well, the time have come to announce the changes!

Susan Alexander — “Let’s Talk Carving”

First, I am very pleased to announce that Susan Alexander will be bringing her very popular column, Let’s Talk Carving, to the pages of  Woodcarver Online Magazine.  Her column will appear once a month (twice each issue of WOM) starting in October.  Susan had a huge following in print, and I am excited to have her join W.O.M, where her writing can have much greater immediacy and she can more quickly respond to questions from readers.   You may view Susan’s back articles on her personal blog at susanalexandercarves.com.    You may email Susan with questions or comments for her column at SusanAlexanderCarvesOnWOM@comcast.net.   Please welcome Susan to CarversCompanion.com and pass on the word to all your carving friends.

Second, I am also pleased to announce that Notes From The Net will be returning to the pages of WOM soon.    In the heyday of the listserv-based mail groups, NFTN aggregated the best questions and answers from the Woodcarver List and several other groups.   The updated version of NFTN will aggregate the best posts from the Woodcarver List Facebook group and other leading Facebook groups, with selections from Woodcarving 101 — The Joy of Woodcarving  and the International Fish Carvers & Painters Association.   Because articles in WOM are indexed and searchable, it should be much easier to search for that great time you read 2 or 3 months ago, compared to scrolling through months of posts in your favorite Facebook group.

.  The first article will appear in Part II of this issue of WOM in early October.
